Seasonal Festivals at EPCOT

Updated: Sep 10, 2023

EPCOT is my favorite of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World for the multitude of food options and the festivals throughout the year. The seasonal festivals take place in and around World Showcase. It gives way to even more delicious food options, different entertainment, and shopping opportunities. This article will explore the different seasonal festivals at EPCOT.

What is your favorite season festival at EPCOT? Lets start in January and walk through the seasonal festivals.

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Time Frame: January - February

What makes it special: There is more artistic entertainment around the park. From sidewalk chalk artists to live performances, and from actors/actresses on Broadway, all of the live entrainment is top-notch.

Insider tips:

  • Try and go during the work week. The weekends will have more locals visiting.

  • There is usually a huge mural that all guests get to paint a small section of. Check it out at the start and end of your day at EPCOT to see all the progress guests make in a day.

EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival

Time Frame: March - July

What makes it special: The amazing topiaries around World Showcase.

Insider tips:

  • Usually there are garden tours you can take (free and paid). It is worth going to.

  • Home Gardeners beware. There are so many wonderful opportunities to get new décor for your garden. If you see something you want, get it because many of the items you will not be able to purchase once you are back home.

  • Purchase a memory maker package, the more popular topiaries will have a Disney Photopass photographer stationed there to take your picture.

EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

What makes it special:

  • For the adults: This is the perfect festival if you want to eat your way around the world or drink your way around the world. You can travel 6 continents and try food and drinks from so many countries. The food booths serve tapas style so you can sample many different from different countries.

  • For the kids and kids at heart: There are two scavenger hunts: Remy's Ratatouille Hide & Squeak and Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit (only offered at the end of September and October)

Insider tips:

  • Get a Disney gift card you can attach to your wrist for older kids who do not have a debit/credit card. Find a place for the family to meet up where there are several food booths near each other. Each member of the family can choose the food booth and order food and drinks without the entire family standing in line at each location.

  • The lines are typically longer around dinner. Eat and drink around the world once the World Showcase is open.

  • This is the perfect time of year to get Park Hopper tickets so you can eat at EPCOT multiple times.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays

Time Frame: November - December

Insider tips:

  • For those who celebrate Christmas, the Candlelight Processional dining packages sell out fast.

  • If you love seeing Christmas décor at the resorts – ask me to include what resorts you should visit in your tip sheet.
