The Best Places to Escape the Crowds at Walt Disney World

I love being in the middle of the magic at Walt Disney Word. But sometimes it is nice to take a break. So, where are the best places to escape the crowds at each of the main parks? Read on to find out.

Legal disclaimer: This is not meant as medical advice. This is a sample of some of the locations where you can take a break.

All parks – All of the parks have a First Aid Station/Baby Station where you can escape the crowds.

EPCOT

The Canada Pavilion in World Showcase is my favorite place to escape the crowds. Near the entrance of the Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 there is a huge waterfall that cascades over the Canadian Rockies. Past the upper section of the waterfall is a quieter section of the park. As a bonus, there are usually benches to sit and relax on with the sounds of the waterfall to help unwind.

On the other side of the park, The Imagination Pavilion is another great options. Near the back of The Imagination Pavilion are restrooms which many guests are not aware of. This area tends to be quieter compared to other areas of the park. Did you know that the Imagination Pavilion has been there since EPCOT opened?

Magic Kingdom

There are different places to escape the crowds. When first entering Magic Kingdom, when walking down Main Street towards Cinderella’s castle, there is a little side “street” on the right called Center Street. There may be a few artists (such as those that make silhouette paintings), but it is a good place to escape the crowds. While there, there are windows on the 2nd story of the building including one for Bob Allen. He rose in the ranks from attractions operator to VP of Walt Disney World.

The second area to escape the crowds is an area perfect young children, in Storybrook Circus. As a bonus, Storybrook Circus is one of the stops for the Walt Disney Railway (that is a relaxing ride through the different lands). Between the Walt Disney Railway stop and Pete’s Silly Slide Show is a small area that has tables and chairs to sit at. The theming of this area is a nod to Disney’s past with old-fashioned circuses.

My favorite places is located in Fantasyland Land, near the Wishing Well. As a bonus, not only is it a great place to take a little break, but also a great family picture opportunity with the castle in the background.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

If it is not close to mealtime, between Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Backlot Express is a good place to escape from some of the crowds.

Another place is at the end of Pixar Plaza, which used to be the main entrance of Toy Story Mania before Toy Story Land was built.

There is also a perfect place to escape for Star Wars fans, an area next to First Order Cargo. This area is a part of the Black Spire Outpost. What I like best about this location is that it is next to my favorite quick service location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Near Mt. Everest, in Asia, is the Maharajah Jungle Trek, where a there is a leisurely walk with animal stops along the way. The trails tend to be less crowded then the rides. Bonus: If you want to learn more about animals, make sure to ask the cast members stationed throughout the trail. They are very knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge with guests of all ages. Fun fact: Tigers are the most famous residents here. In the aviary there are 50+ species of birds. Unfortunately, the animal will go backstage prior to park closing. However, when this happens, there will be even less guests walking nearby.

Where is your favorite place to get to a less crowded area at Walt Disney World?
