No Kids

Viking does not allow children on any of their ships including their river voyages.  This is one of the main things that sets them apart from the other river cruise lines. The atmosphere onboard is quieter and appeals to travelers who are retired.

Excursions

Viking includes one excursion per port. My favorite excursion with Viking was a city Rotterdam and looking at the Cube Houses.

Consistency is Key

I like to tell my Markwood Magic clients that Viking is like a well oiled machine. They know exactly what they are doing. They have an incredibly high rate of repeat travelers, and after cruising with them myself, I completely understand why.  I really enjoyed my interactions with the staff, the food was good, and my cabin was clean.

Prime Docking Location

Because Viking is the largest river cruise line in Europe and were the first to begin cruising, Viking owns most of the docking locations in Europe. This is huge. It makes all the difference in the world for my clients as they are able to dock in the heart of the city more often.

Best Positioned For River Levels

When is there is too much rain or not enough rain this will affect the water levels in the rivers. If the water level isn't at the right level it could prevent the ship from passing through a lock. Because Viking's river cruise ships (or as they like to call them the Longships)  are exactly the same, if water levels become an issue, is becomes easier for  Viking can simply pull two ships up to either side of the blockage and have the passengers switch ships.
