Full Room Tour: Hotel Xcaret Mexico

I just got back from the most wonderful stay at Hotel Xcaret Mexico which is a family-friendly action-packed all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya. The room layouts at both the adults-only property (Hotel Xcaret Arte) and this family-friendly side are actually very similar, with the main difference being the beautiful color schemes on the walls.

Before I get into the room layout itself, I want to share a little bit about this resort. It is massive. The closest comparison I can think of is going to Walt Disney World in Florida where you have the main hotels and then several different parks you can visit, shows, and restaurants that require a reservation. This resort takes a lot of planning. I know that might sound stressful, but I have a wonderful guide for this resort and will help you every step of the way when I book your resort stay here.

The Room Itself

I stayed in the Casa Luna building which is part of the newest section at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. I stayed in a Garden View Room on the 5th floor: 9549. It was so relaxing after a day exploring and during the warmer months you will be happy to know the A/C worked really well.  There are a few other room categories. When we talk during our consultation, I will make sure you pair you with the perfect category for you and your travel party.

Beds

I was sharing a room with a travel agent friend of mine so we requested to have two separate beds instead of one king. As you know I am a bed snob and I am happy to report that the beds were very comfortable.  There were also plenty of electrical outlets to charge the phones and other devices by the bed.

Lighting

As I get older, I appreciate it more and more when a resort has ample lighting. This was huge. It wasn’t just one massive overhead light. Instead there were multiple smaller (and softer) lights you could turn off and on Like on either side of the door leading to the bathroom or the reading light above each of the beds. There are a lot more examples of this, but I really appreciated the options.

The Bathroom

The tub was located just outside the main bathroom area which is great for romantic couples. There is a separate shower with a rainfall showerhead and a handheld one. I loved having the built-in bench to shave! The water pressure was fantastic, and there was plenty of room. (Be sure to watch the embedded video below to see exactly how it is laid out!) The toilet is just standard, but I loved how the housekeeping staff decorated the toilet paper with a cute little rope tie. It is a very small touch, but it shows their immense attention to detail.

Food & Drinks

So full disclosure that I am not a big drinker and prefer mocktails to drinks with alcohol. Our mini fridge was stocked, and we could request it be refilled. For those travelers that need coffee to start your day, you will be happy to know that there are Nespresso® coffee machines in the room as well as complimentary coffee pods.

In the room next to the mini fridge is a bunch of snacks to munch on. On our first night, we were gifted chocolates and they were absolutely delicious.

I mentioned earlier that you can get room service. It does take a while to have the food delivered, but you will not go hungry here. Much like a cruise there is so much to eat.

The Balcony (my favorite part of the room)

Lindsey relaxing reading a book on a hammock at Hotel Xcaret Mexico. There is a small sitting area to the right and a cute chair to the left. Behind her is a pool, lush greenery, and other baclonies.
The BEST place to relax is on my balcony.

I could spend hours upon hours out there. There are two different hammocks to relax in. Plus a little plush beach area AND a cute chair. Pro tip: Room Service is included so you could have breakfast out here instead of the breakfast nook inside the room. Our room had such a wonderful view of a small pool, water slides, and the room in the next building. I love the architectural design so it doesn’t feel like every other resort. The stone details make it different and relaxing. Its like you know you are in your happy place just looking around.

Hotel Xcaret Mexico is truly a bucket-list destination, but as I mentioned earlier, maximizing the parks, dining reservations, and room categories requires a lot of strategic planning. You shouldn't need a vacation to recover from planning your vacation!

When you book your stay at Hotel Xcaret with Markwood Magic, I handle all the heavy lifting. From matching you with the perfect room category   to mapping out your park itineraries and dining reservations, I ensure your trip is completely seamless.
