Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas is known as the ultimate family vacation destination, packed with record-breaking waterslides and thrills. But what happens when the adults need a break? If you are planning a family cruise and want to ensure you get some well-deserved grown-up time, you are in the right place. Icon of the Seas features incredible spaces and entertainment designed perfectly for adults.

Before we dive into the list, check out this quick 3-minute video Markwood Magic created highlighting the top adult-friendly experiences on board!

Check out this short 3 minute video Markwood Magic created on the top things things to do onboard Icon of the Seas for adults.

The top 5 activities for adults are...

5 - Dueling Pianos

This high energy bar is a must do when you are onboard Icon of the Seas. I cannot even begin to express how much fun it is. While families are welcome, the vibe is perfect for an adult night out. It is also right on the Promenade which makes it very easy to find. There is no cover charge to enter. However in order to increase your changes of getting your song played, I suggest leaving a tip.

4 - Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz is a full length musical with live musicians performing in the Royal Theater. It is unique for a production on a cruise ship. It is a fantastic show and I highly recommend going. Make sure to reserve a seat prior to cruising. Pro Tip: Make sure to reserve your seats on the Royal Caribbean app prior to your sailing. For the best experience, adults should book the later showtimes, as families with younger children tend to pack the earlier performance.

3 - Central Park

Since this area also happens to be one of my favorites on the Oasis class ships, it comes to no surprise that it made my top 5 activities for adults onboard Icon of the Seas. While it is great during the day, it has that magical touch at night. The warm Caribbean air at night coupled with music flowing from Lou's Jazz n' Blues, and a mocktail at hand from Trellis Bar makes it relaxing and fun. Central Park is also home to the Park Cafe, where you can grab light meal offerings like salads, soups, and paninis.

2 - Starburst Elemental Beauty

Located in the Absolute Zero ice arena, this was hands-down the best ice-skating show I have ever seen. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall during the creative process when they were designing the lighting and choreography. It is so captivating that I watched it not once, but twice during our week-long cruise

1 - The Overlook.

This is the absolute most relaxing place to be on a sea day or early in the morning before the rest of the ship wakes up. Located in the AquaDome neighborhood, The Overlook offers a peaceful ambiance with incredible ocean views. I spent so much time here during our cruise, both working and just unplugging. Try to get here early to snag one of the highly coveted Overlook Pods as they are the best "seats in the house".

Bonus: The Attic

Located on Deck 6 in the Royal Promenade, The Attic is an adults-only (18+) comedy club and a fantastic spot for a late-night date. I highly recommend checking it out if you want to grab a drink and laugh until your sides hurt. Pro Tip: Because this venue is intimate, the comedy shows "sell out" incredibly fast. Be sure to reserve your complimentary tickets on the Royal Caribbean app
