Royal Caribbean Dining Times

Updated: Sep 10, 2023

One of the best things about cruising is the food! Every Royal Caribbean ship offers meals in the Main Dining Room. This article will explore the different dining room times available for the Main Dining Room for cruising.

First lets get to some background. The Main Dining Room one of the complimentary dining options onboard a Royal Caribbean cruise. It spans multiple decks and offers breakfast, lunch, and three course meals for dinner. The dinner menu offerings change daily, and yes – you can order multiple items in the same course. Did I mention it is complimentary? It is.There are upgrades available at an additional cost. During dinner, your table is serviced by a Head Waiter, Waiter, and Assistant Waiter.

What are the Royal Caribbean dining times? For dinner there are three different options for dining times.

Main Dining Room. Tables are set for dinner and there is a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling as well as beautiful artwork in the background.

Early Dining – Early Dining is typically at 5 or 5:30 PM. You can sit with just your traveling party or meet new friends at your table. Each night you will sit at the same table. This is great as your wait staff will get to know your preferences pretty quickly. Travelers with the early time usually go to the nighttime entertainment after dinner. This dining option tends to have more children than the late dining.

Late Dining – Late Dining is typically at 8 PM. Just like Early Dining, You can sit with just your traveling party or meet new friends at your table. Each night you will sit at the same table. This is great as your wait staff will get to know your preferences pretty quickly. Travels with the late time usually go to the nighttime entertainment before dinner. No worries there are still a lot of activities you can enjoy after dinner as well. This dining option tends to have less children than the early dining.

My Time Dining – My Time Dining allows guests to reserve their dining time ahead of the cruise. For example, the first night you could choose to eat at 5:45 and the second night you can dine at 7:30. Reservations are suggested, but not required for My Time Dining. You might be waiting longer than you want if you do not have reservations during peek times. You will sit at a different table each night and will be services by a different Waiter and Assistant Waiter.

Which is the right dining option for you and your traveling party? That depends. For those that book their Royal Caribbean cruise though Markwood Magic, this is one of the areas I offer assistance in.
