What is the most popular moderate resort I book at Walt Disney World® Resort? If you choose Disney’s Caribbean Beach, you are right. Let’s explore the top 5 reasons this resort is so popular among #MarkwoodMagic travelers
1. Location! Location! Location!
Disney’s Caribbean Beach has Disney’s Skyliner for a transportation option. It is a fun gondola ride to Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort. I firmly believe that Disney’s Skyliner should be considered an attraction all by itself! The views are pretty, its relaxing, and it a short ride to your destination.
Want to head to Epcot® Theme Park? Disney’s Skyliner will drop you off at the back entrance known as the International Gateway. At park opening it is a short walk to Frozen Ever After and once it opens, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. International Gateway give you an advantage to get to these attractions then those travelers who enter at the main entrance. Maybe your day is going to start at Star Wars: Gallaxy’s Edge. Disney’s Skyliner can drop you off near the entrance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Either location is a short walk to the resorts at Crescent lake. This includes Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, and the Swan and Dolphin resort. The views of Crescent lake during sunset or at night cannot be missed – especially when you see the fireworks from Epcot! Shameless plug, once you book your resort package stay with me, I’ll give you recommendations of where to eat no more than a gondola ride away.

This must-do pool is themed to an old Spanish citadel complete with not one, but two water slides. Climb up a turret for a fun 82 foot slide down into the pool. Fuentes del Morro is a zero-entry pool and has water cannon to add to the fun. As with all Disney resort pools, complimentary life jackets are available. Travelers 48" or under can splash and enjoy mini slides at the Fuentes del Morro Water Play Area. The “young at heart” travelers can enjoy time in the spa. Tip: Check the resort’s recreational activities to see what they are offering at the pool during your stay. Our family participated in many trivia games lounging at the pool.
3. The rooms.
The resort villages are themed to the Caribbean Islands: Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, Jamaica, Trinidad North and Trinidad South. Bonus: each village has its own quiet pool. Now back to the topic of the rooms.
I love this resort for my travelers. For families of 5 with a younger traveler, some of the rooms have a 5th sleeper – a pull down bed, which is perfect if you have littles ones. A word of caution, these beds are small and are meant for the smaller travelers. For families that have a treasure seeking adventurer in your party – try out one of the pirate themed rooms. They are a lot of fun. Where else can you sleep in a boat and dream of pirate filled voyages around the Caribbean? Our family has stayed in the pirate themed room once and a 5th sleeper room twice.
4. Movies Under the Stars. I recommend attending at least one night of Movie Under the Stars at Disney’s Caribbean Beach. It is located at Caribbean Cay Island right near the playground. Side note: Caribbean Cay island is fun to explore on your own. Movie Under the Stars is currently for resort guests only. There is plenty of room to spread out on the lawn, relax with your family, and enjoy watching a Disney family friendly film. Check the resort’s recreational calendar for the days and movies that are playing as the schedule changes monthly.
5. Dining.
Every moderate and above Disney resort has at least one sit down dining option (during non COVID times). Having a nice meal on property is a special treat. At Disney’s Caribbean Beach, our family enjoys eating at Sebastian's Bistro. (Hello crabcakes…yummy). While you might be able to secure a table walking up, most of the time that is not possible. I recommend getting a reservation. If you want quick service, try Centertown Market. Fun fact: You can order your meal for Centertown Market straight from your phone.
